Christmas in Chambord

The 12th edition of ‘Christmas at Chambord’ is coming! From Saturday 29 November, the National Estate of Chambord will be celebrating the magic of Christmas and French craftsmanship with enchanting decorations.

To make the magic of Christmas complete, Chambord is organising shows and entertainment for all ages, offering visitors the chance to discover or rediscover this emblem of France’s architectural heritage, known and recognised throughout the world. With traditional decorations, contemporary inspirations, costumed entertainment and shows, Chambord invites families to marvel at this enchanting setting from 29 November 2025 to 4 January 2026.

Highlights for 2025:

A new grand magic show by Gaël the magician from 20 December 2025 to 3 January 2026: three performances per day at 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., except on 24 and 31 December, when performances will be at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Decorations based on fairy tales, particularly those of Hans Christian Andersen, whose 150th anniversary of his death is being celebrated this year.
A Christmas village atmosphere around the castle and ‘Around the Well’ with a carousel and three Christmas chalets.
A one-hour themed guided tour, ‘Christmas: a tradition through the ages’, to discover the origins of the festive season from ancient times to the present day.
Activities every weekend in December: walks, traditional games, Renaissance dances and demonstrations, chocolate painting, nature workshops, etc.
An exhibition on Andersen’s fairy tales – Les Contes Enchantés (from 29 November 2025 to 1 March 2026): designed in partnership with Albin Michel, this exhibition focuses on the ‘Les classiques illustrés’ collection, directed by illustrator Benjamin Lacombe. Lacombe has selected numerous images from books based on Andersen’s fairy tales (The Snow Queen, The Princess and the Pea, The Wild Swans, etc.). One area is dedicated to Beauty and the Beast, a book by Benjamin Lacombe set in the Château de Chambord.
