Les Journées Européennes du Patrimoine 2024

21 and 22 September 2024

Every year, the European Heritage Days are an opportunity for visitors and professionals from the worlds of culture and gardening to exchange ideas.

Find out more about the ‘Heritage routes, networks and connections’ and ‘Maritime heritage’ programmes.

Created in 1984 by the Ministry of Culture as ‘Open Days for Historic Monuments’, the aim of the European Heritage Days is to show as many people as possible the extraordinary wealth of our heritage through original events, unusual visits and exceptional openings.

The 2024 European Heritage Days

For its 41st edition, the European Heritage Days will be held on Friday 20, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September 2024 and will focus on ‘the heritage of routes, networks and connections and maritime heritage’. These days provide an opportunity to visit monuments and sites that are often exceptionally open.

From Friday 20 September, schoolchildren will be able to take part in the ‘Raise your eyes’ operation, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. This popular event is an opportunity for the public to talk to heritage professionals and discover their knowledge and expertise.
