Guided tour: ‘Chambord: a stroll through the village and gardens’
Launch offer 2026
What if your exploration of Chambord began even before you set foot inside the château?
Over the centuries, a unique landscape has developed around the building, shaped by human endeavour from the reign of Francis I to the present day. Meticulously designed gardens, unspoilt nature and a vibrant village: these layers all tell a different story of Chambord – one that is more understated but just as essential.
This tour invites visitors to explore these spaces and understand how they have evolved over time. It reveals how, from the very beginning, the estate was conceived as an ambitious project aimed at harnessing and organising nature. It also sheds light on the contemporary issues that build on this vision, particularly in the face of climate challenges and the sustainable management of landscapes.
As you walk through the grounds, your perspective shifts: the castle is no longer just a monument, but the heart of a living ecosystem, constantly evolving.
