La Bambouseraie en Cévennes
Exotic garden
Associated with a rich collection of exotic plants and remarkable trees, bamboos constitute the botanical originality of La Bambouseraie which was created in 1856 by Eugène Mazel, a passionate lover of the plant world.
Exotic, Magical and Unique Gardens
A forest of giant bamboos unique in Europe, centuries-old trees, exceptional landscaping such as the Bambusarium, the plant labyrinth, the aquatic garden, the Laotian village, the magnificent Victorian greenhouses built by Eugène Mazel… transport the visitor to distant countries.
The styles of this exotic garden
The surprising and recent creation of Erik Borja, landscape artist, of a Japanese-style strolling garden: the Vallon du Dragon. It fits not only into the Bambouseraie but also into the Cévennes landscape and the exotic gardens thus surprise more than one visitor. The Dragon Valley plays on the complementarity of plants and minerals in which spring flowering and autumn colors play a major role.
