The gardens of Château du Rivau
Contemporary garden
The gardens of Château du Rivau are a resolutely contemporary creation, an invitation to enter a fanciful universe, where botanical richness combines with a collection of contemporary art.
The gardens of Château du Rivau, a contemporary and fun creation
At the foot of the 15th century castle, 14 gardens invite visitors of all ages on a stroll intended to awaken the senses and the imagination. It was in 1992 that Eric and Patricia Laigneau bought the Rivau estate to rehabilitate it. From 1995, after having attended the Versailles landscape school, Patricia Laigneau focused on the design of gardens to which she imbued a resolutely contemporary spirit. Graphics and colors are the guidelines of the project associated with the fabulous world of fairy tales evoked by oversized contemporary works. The lavender knot beds, the Gargantua Vegetable Garden, the Enchanted Forest, the Border of Delice, the Cassinina, the fragrant alley, the Paradise Orchard, the love potion garden, the Secret Garden and the Princess garden Rapunzel takes visitors on a fun walk conducive to relaxation and sharing.
